The drug you are taking is Amitriptyline. It is used for the depression (Udasinta) and anxiety (Aatine rog). It can be also be used in neuropathic pain( Nasa Sambandhi Dukhai), as well as migraine.

It shows its action by increasing the amount of two chemicals in your brain called ‘Serotonin’ and nor-edrinaline”. These are the chemicals produced in your body when you are in state of happiness.

Your dose may vary from 10-150 mg depending upon the your condition.

Tips :

  • May cause drowsiness, and impaired ability to drive and walk . So, better take high doses at evening to minimize day time sedation.

  • Do not stop this medicine suddenly , as it may result into withdrawal syndrome

  • May increase the risk of sunburn, protect yourself from the sun when outdoors.
